Lost Loves on Discovery Channel
Hello Everyone,
I produce car shows for Speed, ESPN and Discovery Channel. We're looking for stories for a new show my company is producing for Discovery Channel called "Lost Loves". It's a simple, fun show regarding real enthusiasts and their love for cars, not some BS reality series.
Here's a summary of the show:
LOST LOVES is a 30-minute television series that tells emotional stories about a
diverse group of people, who have the desire to track down and find an important car
from their past, Along the way, we’ll help with their challenges, share their frustrations,
tears, and moments of pure joy, as their journey takes place not only in the present, but
also in their memories of the past.
Our Host is a well known automotive historian who plays the
role of detective leading the “treasure hunt” by helping our
searchers track down their special car. As each story
unfolds we witness the true-life drama of the hunt and see
the passion people have for their favorite vintage American
car, sports car or thundering muscle car. We search forclues like old photos,
follow a trail of DMVrecords, cull the internet
and interview past owners of vehicles we are looking for. We see
disappointment as clues to a car’s whereabouts
lead to nothing. And, we join the excitement of
closing in on the missing automobile and see the
elation as someone is finally reunited with a long
lost love.
WATV’s position in the automotive community, as the premiere producer of motor
vehicle enthusiast programming, ensures a wealth of fascinating stories to tell about
people who are looking for, or have found, their favorite old car.
Each 30-minute episode has three entertaining and emotional accounts of people who
are searching for a car or have found a car they have lusted after. As the drama play
out we learn interesting historic facts about the missing cars and their manufacturers
with the use of archival footage and narration.
If any of you have an interesting story to tell about a car you owned or wish you did, feel free to post it in this forum or email me at bhamel@watvproductions.com.
Thanks for your time.
