Hi guys. New AMG owner. Got stock 2004 e55 amg. Owned 1 week. Noticing loss of power mid range after few hard starts. Also on a particular stretch of road (hill) my car tops out at 115 stuck on 5500 rpm. In sports mode and airmatic ii setting. Wont change up or down gear. Been up this hill much faster in other cars. On straight will do 130+. Just problem on hill. Any ideas. Booked into dealer on friday but who knows what they will come up with. Any help appreciated

 

Good luck with yours, the hesitiation seems to be a consistant problem.[/align][/align]I have a 2004 S55 with 45,000 miles. I have taken to the autobahn in Belmont multiple times for a squeek coming out of the supercharger and a simultanious hesitation or loss of power which occurs at about 10 miles per hour. I went on a ride with the technichian and spoke to the service manager. They both told me this was "normal" and they do not have a fix for this. I have had discussions with other S55 owners and they told me their cars did not do this. Any advice? Does anyone else have this problem? Opinions?

hello , I havent heard of any complaints about that but maybe you could have a bad MAP sensor which senses pressure in the manifold. this is just a random guess off the top of my head. im sure there could be other causes to your complaint.

 

Most likely the MAP sensor - normal on these wonderful cars.

 

yes yes the fault on your AMG is super charge inter cooler pump play up at about 100+mph thats the only time they start to work harder,your fault code on the star will come up as M44 INTER COOLER PUMP CHECK FOR SOLING.......its gonna be same fault for s55 kevinguibara..................

 

well that squeak you are hearing from your supercharger is the supercharger clutch engaging all of my supercharged cars do the same thing. the clutch you hear is very similar to the same set up as a AC compressor. how many miles are on your E55 because mine is also starting to lose power but i think that it is because of my intercooler pump i have heard it is a very common problem i am considering getting the upgraded one from renn tech along with the new ecu.
