I've been looking at getting an AMG mercedes for a few months and have looked at a few C-class AMGs. How would the C55 compare to the C32 as far as performance, fuel economy, known problems, overall value? I'm guessing the 2002 C32 might not be a good year since there are so many for sale that seem cheap and reading a couple of posts on here seems to confirm that so I am ruling 2002 C32s out of the comparison. Any help would be appreciated.

We don't see any at the shop so as far as a reliablity stand point for the 32 soI can't be ofmuch help. However you have to realize everytime a new higher performance AMG of any klass comes out the value of the last drops drasticly. I can tell you I would rather have a naturaly asperated engine rather than a forced induction just becasue of longterm reliability and maintnece.
A friend of mine saw that for himeself. He bought a 01210 e553 years ago and got a good deal on it because the 211 kompressors just came out. Now the 63's are hear and the value of that vehicle dropped alot again.

 

From what i can tell there is not a lot more hp on the c55 and i think the c32 would be lighter and would make up for that...so all i can think is check on any mods you might want to do and see if they are out there for both models. hope that helps
