i-pod integration for 06 S-class
My father is going to order the new 2006 (9th generation) S-class in the next few weeks and he wants me to hook up his i-pod similar to the way I have mine integrated in my BMW. It is a BMW accessory that is $150 that wires your i-pod to your stereo, chages it and allows you to control the songs with your steering wheel. Does MB make something similar that he can order from the factory or is there any other options??? Thanks for your help.
MB makes a similar integrated iPod kit, BUT as far as I know, it won't be compatible in the 2004 and 2005 S-classes (W220). And most likely it won't be compatible in the new W221s, either.
The DVD comands that come with the 2004/5 S-class are made by Siemens... and those units don't have an auxiliary input. No AUX input means no possiblity to get MB's iPod kit hooked up.

nope no kits.....it must be odered with the car from the factory...I know this because the dealer refunded my money...the service manager told me so....and yes ....the stupid thing is in thier catalog..
another stupid thing is ...the new 07 benz ...has a pcmia card to play mp3....
get a compact flash adaptor for pcmia card from best buy..and stick a 1 to 3 gig compact flash card in it...to play your mp3....its a lot cheaper than that pcmia card that mercedes is selling...
my 2 cents
