Default 107 Interior

My 74 450SL center console is disintegrating. Much of the plastic is brittle and basically fell into pieces when I was working on the Becker Europa II stereo and replacing burnt out light bulbs.

Other than gluing all the pieces together, does anyone have other ideas that are cheaper than paying $1,000.00+ for a new center console? I've actually considered building one out of wood...

I am having the same problem I am gona repair much of the plastic with glue and jb weld, and I'm gona use 1x.5 inch pieces of wood to hold it up. I'll screw one board lengthwise to trans well on both sides and legthwise on inner parts of console so they'll stack and hold the center console securely.

Is there anywhere online where I could look at someone doing this type of work?

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would love to know more about the process. And in the case of you doing the work yourself, pictures would be great.

No pressure, but any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you!
