Wipers stop working??

RE: Wipers stop working??
Sounds like a motor or relay overheating, but not enought to blow a fuse. But enough to stop the wipers. I would look at the relay first. As a hot motor will usually blow the fuse, where a relay, won't get that hot and some have a failsafe, that will cut power to them. Or at worst, it would be the switch itself. My cruise control on my 79 450SLC accelerate the car, and hold speed when you pushed up on the handle, but all of the suddent it would come of out cruise on it own. After much troubleshooting as there are two types of cruise controls that could have been installed in that car. I found a crack in the insulation on the combination switch with holds both the cruise switch and the directional and wiper switch. I still haven't figured out where the bare wire was touching to overheat it but I bought a new cruise switch and now it works fine.
