Mine is a 2008 C300, with a manual transmission, 46,400 miles. My windshield wipers work in all positions, for random amounts of time, then stop altogether even when raining hard. So far, turning off the car and restarting results in the wipers working, again for random amounts of time. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

sinse they work at time , i would think wiper motor or short in the wiring somewhere. if they just died and didnt work at all i would lean more towards a fuse. sounds like your wiper motor is going bad. however im not a mercedes tech , just throwing out a idea.

edit: do you live somewhere where it rains a lot? thus causing you to use your wipers often? 46k is very low mileage for this problem. just my 2 cents

could be a relay going bad or sticking. you could try to operate the wipers while checking the relay. you should hear and feel a click from the relay as the wipers operate. you will need to manually close the hood switches because the wipers will not work with the hood open, at least on most of the Benz's that's how it is.
