Wheel Replacement?

Wheel Replacement?
Ok Mercedes lovers… It is good to see you guys are still out there. I have a good question for you... It has been a while and I have received a lot of good advice from you so here it is….
I have a nice 1988 300SE. I recently purchased some BBS 16” Rims for this car without thinking. This car comes with 15” rims. I would like to know if I could place these rims on the car and if so what do I have to do with the tire size? I am running the standard 15” rim with Michelin Harmony 205/65/15. Any suggestions?
The Wheel is below. I will paint the Black the regular Mercedes Gray.
What do you think?

RE: Wheel Replacement?
Hi LordNixonXTC
You could try the "Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 225/50/16."
The overall tire diameter is approx .2 inch smaller than the harmony.
The overall tire width is approx .7 wider than the harmony.
The treadwear rating is 400 instead of 600, so the compound is softer,
My wife runs the "Harmony" on her car, and they are hard to match regarding mileage.
Your 16 rims will require a lower sidewall profile, which puts you closer to the performance range of tires, so you need to observe the mileage rating on any tire you choose. Some tires in this size have treadwear ratings as low as 80, but if you stay near 400 on the rating, tire wear will be reasonable. Also the treadwear rating is notscientific but rather a rough measure; I have found it to be reliable in terms of avoiding racing tires which last only three months.
