Default Wheel Question

What wheels will fit what cars?

Can the Wheels off of a SL55 fit a W126

also could they fit a 94-00 C-class

I think that we need to come up with a crossreference list so when people post wheels for sale off of a certain model we know what other models they will fit.

I was told that the offset will get in the way. Also keep in mind that the fronts are 18X8.5" 30mm offset and the rears are 18X9.5" 33mm offset. For a W126.

Not only that, the bolt pattern will be different.

Default RE: Wheel Question

The Mercedes Benz accessory brochure lists all the MB models old & new with wheel sizes for all the models including offsets and bolt part numbers. The brochure includes areas where body fouling may occur. e.g. retro fitting SL 55 AMG wheels to a SL 500 etc. The problem lies in getting hold of the brochures as here in the UK only the parts department appear to have copies that they may copy for you if you ask them. It does not help if you are looking at fitting say BMW wheels to a Merc. My experience is stick with the OEM or a good copy.

I recently upgraded the standard 16 inch wheels on a R129 SL 500 to 17 inch wheels from a new E class saloon but had to use 15 mm spacers to clear the callipers. Luckily I was able to source high quality properly centred lipped spacers from Germany via a firm in Ireland fron the internet.
