What's the difference between mercedes cars bought in US vs. Europe
hey,
What is the difference between a mercedes bought in the US and a mercedes bought in europe (or middle east)? Now I know for a fact, engine sizes, for example in the US you'd get S550 while in Europe and the Middle East you'd get S500. That's not a main concern of mine. I'm talkin about options in general, interior and exterior. A small example is the speedometer obviously being in MPH in the US and in KPH in Europe and Middle East. Well in new S class you can change the speedometer appearance but not on a C, E and other classes.
A major difference I noticed is that, most (not all) US high-end cars, for example C63 AMG and E63 AMG tend to NOT have front and rear sensors. I never understood the reason behind that. I'm not sure of any other main differences. Any one has any reliable information on such issue?
Thank you

here in the UK we are MPH. When buying a new merc, the interior spec here is really mean. Every toy needs to be purchased as an extra. For example, front and rear sensors are not standard on most cars and need to be ordered and fitted when buying the car new. Leather and auto transmission is also extra at huge cost.

differences between Mercedes from US and middle east
hey guys,
I just want to ask if I buy a Mercedes E class from the US and ship it over seas like dubai do I have to change anything considering the high weather temperature over there.

Here in Canada, heated seats and heated windshield washer nozzles are always standard. Speedometer is in km. Canadian bumper standards are higher here than the US although they either have been or will be standardized soon. Some warranty terms are different than in US. Level of standard equipment is often (but not always) much higher in Canada but so is the price.
Entire classes of cars were available in Canada years before the US. The Smart and B-class are two examples. Diesels showed up in Canada first as well.
