Default What Does this Dash Light mean?

New to the forum & Mercedes. I just acquired a 1985 190D with no owners manual. Therefore, I don't know what some of the lights on the dash mean. Once in a while, the "yellow- circle with arrows arund it" goes on. What is it? There is a rocker switch with circular arrows on it. When you switch it, a red light on the switch is turned on. What for??? If anyone has a copy of the page from the owners manual that would explain the dash switches and lights, I'd love to get one, or just tell me...

the circle with the lines around it mean your pads are out. The button with the three arrows is for recirculating the air iin the cabin.

I just had it inspected and they said the pads are fine. Could there be a problem with a wheel cylinder or something?

If it is the pad warning (need picture to confirm) and you had the vehicle inspected for worn pads you must consider:
WHEN DID THE LIGHT COME ON. BEFORE OR AFTER THE INSOPECTION?

Maybe there is a break in the circuit (this turns the light ON.
Did the garage check the sensors (these are lttle low cost wires that are attached to the pad or similar) were OK.
If the light wads ON BEFORE the car went to the garage they should have determined why the light is on!
If AFTER the car was returned from the garage then something has occurred since the pads were inspected.

The warning light ONLY advises when the pads (and on newer vehicles the discs) are worn (wire is cut) and cannot detect any other problems in the system i,e, leaks)
Hope this helps.
