water in the headlights

Default water in the headlights

its been raining here a lot lately
i noticed some water inside the headlight, more on the lense. condesation.
what can i do to fix this? the lense is not broken as far as i can tell.
this is on a 00 s500.

The headlight housing must be cracked somewhere. Is it just one that fogs up? Or, maybe the bulb housing is loose?

they both fog up. the bubs feel tight, ill check the housing tomorrow.
i also forgot to mention it does it when i wash the car as well.

replace the rubber seal between the plastic lens and housing.

you must remove the headlamps to do this.

you need half day for first timer.

I agree with both sleepwalker and lugnut either a crack or a bad rubber seal. If it is a small crack I fixed my son's friend headlight with a small crack in it with some clear silicone glue. but first I had to spray a some canned air into the crack to get some of the moisture dry and then had him turn on the headlights to warm up the lens and I applied the silicone with a popsicle stick and told him to keep the headlight on when he was driving, so far it has worked.

any idea where i can buy the rubber seal? or do i have to got to the dealer?

yes, from the dealer.

they might replace it for you for free because it is under service measure/recall.

Damn it, you beat me too it! I had the same problem with the rubber seal on my 01 SLK320. They said it happens naturally with weathering if you leave your car outside, etc. They just wear down.
