I have been looking for a post/thread on the removal &re-installationof the exterior rear view mirror from its casing but no luck. Has anybody come across a thread regarding this? The mirror on the driver side of my 2000 E320 is somewhat loose and not centered on the frame - it sits low. Thanks for any input.

 

if you move the mirror glass all the way up look under the glass and into the housing at the bottom there might be a metal clip towards the inside or toward the door you push down on it and slide the plastic cover off. This is how some older benzs are but some others you actually fold mirror in toward door and look in the hinge area of the mirror assemblyyou might see a metal clip and it slides left to rifght then pull off cover. this is the best explanation i can give to you without knowing a site to direct you to. just look for metal silver clips and that is what your looking for, will be in 1 of the 2 places.
