We have an 82 300D Turbo that the battery light started dimly comming on at iddle while warming up. It has a 1000 amp battery and it is measuring only 8 volts. I had let the car run for about an hour while putting on the winter/ice tires and was getting in the car to go when I noticed the battery light comming on. I know that all the cables and connections are clean/fresh. I am leaning toward brushes/voltage regulator. It has 228,000 miles on it but have not pulled it apart yet. What does anyone else think? Thanks for your help in advance....robert and rhonda aka the mudheads ps note the battery had fired up the motor just fine prior to this event. (glad it puked in the driveway)

So tell me I have a 240 D 81 will the Volt REG from that year work on my 82 300D turbo? and also do you know what years that I should be looking for previous ref models should I run into the right opportunity? Thanks again...Rhonda and Robert Mudheads
