very rough idle

Default very rough idle

1984 380 sel. Very rough idle and big loss of power. This problem happened all of a sudden. Maybe a few km's after refuelling. Checked all vacuum hoses all connections and dizzy cap with rotor, everything seems ok. please help, car was running very soomthly before this. Thanks in advance

It's probably not this, but you should rule out what you can, right? The exact same symptoms happened in a car I once had. It turn out that a plastic grocery bag got sucked into the air intake housing and plugged the airflow. I never saw the plastic bag, so I had no idea what had happened. Anyway, just takes a second to check for an obstruction.

thanks for that, but no, ive taken air filter housing off also, when i checked all the vacuum lines.

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? I have seen them get almost entirely plugged so that they cause symtoms such as you describe.

just changed fuel filter, no real change

drained fuel tank, added additive, changed plugs, checked ignition leads, everything back to normal. Must have been bad fuel.
