I'VE GOT A 190E AND THE TRANNY ONLY WILL GO IN FIRST GEAR AND REVERSE,SO I THEN GOT ANOTHER ONE AND IT ONLY WILL GO IN FIRST GEAR ALSO,SO I AGAN GOT ANOTHER ONE AND IT TO ALSO ONLY WILL GO INTO FIRST AND REVERSE. I'M STARTING TO THINK IT'S NOT THE TRANNY, PLEASE HELP ME!

 

Is it manual, or automatic?

It is an automatic. The transmission goes into first gear when I put it into Drive. It won't shift into second (or any other forward moving gears). It will go into reverse, park, and neutral. The vaccuum modulator has the appropriate pressure (according to my mechanic). I have put two other transmissions into the car with the exact same results. Any ideas?
