Default Tornado redux

Last night I ran into an old friend who has taught auto shop at the local tech HS for 15 years and before that was a Chevy tech at a local dealer. The tech school has all of the lastest dianogistic equipment and the people that come out of school know how to fix cars. I showed him my new CAI and then the subject somehow turned to the Tornado "Fuel Saver" He said Al, those diivices do work, he budgeted 4 for students cars. a new nissan sentra a 2000 chevy and a 85 mustang 5.0. He said in all cases the Tornado did improve gas mileage, the best was on the nissan sentra, and hp's also, but only about 2HP to 5hp. He was a specticule about the divice, but he admits it does work, He didn't recommend going out and buying one as the cost to savings ratio is too wide. Perhaps something that sells on TV does work? He said they a student with a carb car found it did nothing by the way. Also, the hp gain were at the were noted more toward the higher end of the rpm range, which makes sense.

the Trnado Intake? What in the hell? I had a friend in school that designed a forced induction intake. I had one on my track car, an 89Prelude, i had a power gain of 11HP in top end, i also sucked up gas like a cow in the summer.
That crack on him was a bit lame "you are in GA tho..." I grew up in FL, not really concidered the south, we gave up first during the civil war. HA HA!

I knew cows made gas, but I didn't know they sucked it up too.
