We just got our first MB, 1985 300SD turbo.... The car came with the 560SEL rims and 225/50R16 tires. I don't know much about tire and rim sizes and I was wondering if I could replace the existing tires with a different size (less sporty) tires without changing the rims?

Do you know by any chance where I could find a set of the original wheel for this 1985 300sd?

I have been all over the internet and found lots of 300d wheels but not sd.

Must not be looking in the right places...

Thanks again for your reply this is helping me quite a bit.

I just got this 85 300sd that I am trying to restore to its original specs, need some rims, seat spring and fix a rear electric widow that has some problem.

I have ordered a set of repair manuals (you gave me the address, thanks) and I should get them next week, in the mean time I am trying to fix what I can without messing up too much....

The car is equipped with 225/50 r16 tires right now and I want to go back to 205/70 r14 what do you think?
