Default Stereo display

Are there any good repair tips for the stereo display? Mine is blank. The system works just fine. you just can't see what you've got.
Also, is there a special tool that is "required" to remove the system from the dash?
It's a 1995 C220.

Good removal instructions at this site (may need to drill down a few links from this page).

Thanks XVVVZ,
Looks like my blacked out display isn't repairable, I guess I'll look for a replacemnt now.

Normally the display will have small bulbs for back lighting. Since your system is working fine, I suspect this is your problem. A good electronic technician should be able to replace this bulbs which are soldered onto the PCB of the display module.
SHAN.
