After replacing battery (1997 Mercedes SL 600)soft top and roll bar will not work, both switches lights stay on can anyone help

 

My guess is that a fuse was blown or needs reset?

 

requres reset by MB STAR DIAGNOSTIC,OR A VERY CLEAVER SCANNER,WAT IT DOES IT NEEDS TO BE READ AND ERASE FAULT MEMORY........

 

If you have the soft top service wrench you can manually operate the top (see owners manual) into the closed/locked position and try it and if not working, move it into the open/locked position, make sure that the latches all look identical when you look down into them so that one is not released and the other side latched. Comonly this cycle will remedy a simple complaint and a visit to the dealer can be avoided. This process is easier said then done for a novice.
