Default SLK 230 Roof Problems

I'm sorry to be boring but I've got a problem with my roof too! ! have a 1998 SLK 230 which is mint and low mileage and to date has been a joy to own. The last time I put the top down it worked perfectly just like it's always done, but when trying to open it recently after 4 or 5 months without doing so, almost nothing. The only response I get when operating the roof switch is the switch turning red and the barest hint of sound and movement in the passenger window that it would make if it were to start opening, thats it. When pushing the roof switch forwards to the closing position there isn't even the hint of any movement in the passenger window, not that it really moved that much when trying to open roof in first place but when I attempt to close the window on its dedicated switch there is that hint of sound and movement again. I have read absolutely everything there is available on this forum regarding roof opening problems but I have found nothing that matches this problem. Is there anyone that can offer some advice, I would be so very grateful.

I have just tried opening roof again and have noticed that repeated pressing of switch does gradually open passenger window a bit at a time though double clicking of roof switch opens and shuts both windows perfectly while at no time does the pump show any signs of life Thanks, Nick
