SL600 will not start

SL600 will not start
Back my 1994 Sl600 out of the garage and the next day it would not start. Engine turns over, you can smell the gas, engine catches just briefly. Any ideas ?? Mechanic does not know - anyone have an experience like this ?? Thanks Jack

flooded?
can you disable the fuel pump and crank again?
you also need to check if ignition got good spark for the crankshaft position sensor might be faulty.
