Default C-250 D 1995 aut. gear problem.need help?

Hi

Just got the car and there is a problem with the aut.gear box.

When i start driving it runs trogh 1. 2. 3. and 4. gear before 40 mph ??

I have to put the pedal to chick down switch before it goes down to (only) 3. gear ?

It is soo slooow so I have to by manual changing the gears.

It has electronic trottle control and one wire from the trottle is going down to the automatic gear box together with 2 vacum tubes (from control box linked to the trottle wire), this lok all ok to me.

Any ideas enyone ?

the control cable which connects from accelrator to trans might be too tightly adjusted. loosen it a little if it is.

high modulating pressure can cause that also.

Hi

But the wire can not be adjusted ? it is just on, and off ?

high modulating pressure ? is it the governor valve placed inside the transm. ?

Thanks
EIvin

it can be adjusted from the linkage.

high mod pres = low shift pressure.

the governor serves as the valve itself opening and closing depending on rotation speed.
