i own a 1964 230 sl pagoda and am having trouble with the cold start device on the fuel injection. would appreciate any advice

was it fuel injection you say?
is it not using a carburator?

please check if it is Solex PDSI-2, or zenith?

there is a thermal spring somewhere on the side where you can adjust it. check first if it is stucked or broken.
