Silver Star halogen lights
I bought and installed Silver Star lights after seeing much-hyped advertising.
They are nothing close to whiteness. They are still distinctly yellow. Sylvania website says they are rated at 4000K.
They are truely brighter than older halogens though.
I am now removing them and ordering some from eBay....looking for the ones around 5000K.
Anybody with any experience with any brand for those blue-tinted halogen bulbs?

Don't buy the filtered bulbs. They filter certain colors from the beam to enhance a particular color. They aren't as bright as unfiltered bulbs. You'll find yourself straining to see in dark areas at night. If you ALWAYS drive in lighted areas at night, like downtown anytown, then it wouldn't matter.
Lugnut is right, also stay away from those Ebay bulbs they last about one nite at best, I know, I've been there. Go to www.susquehannalighting.com, and they can help you out. I'm pretty sure that how it is spelled. If not get back to me and I will look it up. NO don't do to that address it is wrong, let me such thru my favorites and I repost the correct address. sorry
