On my 2007 ML350 4Matic, how in the world do I shift into neutral? Maybe I just don’t understand the column shifter: up for reverse, down for drive and in for park. I’ve read the manual but dang it’s complicated.

Also, how to shift manually? I found the shift buttons on the steering column but can’t seem to find the page selection section that tells you how. It would be nice to be able to downshift manually when climbing steeper hills without mashing the gas pedal.
