Replaced the front flex coupler in my wife's old S320 W140 body yesterday. Everything went well, I lowered the rear off the jackstands, reached inside and slipped it into park. I lowered the front off the jackstands, got in started it up, went to shift out of park and couldn't budge it. Any ideas what has happened and what I need to do to correct it?

Should I have nothing to do with the flex disc Repair. did you do something with the transmission shift linkage rod?

 

I didn't think it had anything to do with the shifting. I did remove the linkage from the shifter and the shifter is free. I can not operate the shift lever on the transmission, I think there must be an solenoid inside that allows the lever to move. The brake lights operate, I have checked all the fuses under the hood and they are all good. In checking this forum I have noticed referance to a EDM modual. I don't know where it is located, don't know if this chassis even has one. Maybe it can be bypassed or?

there is a shifting interlock module under the shifter,,,,with a peep hole flapper on the south end of the consol,,down at the bottom just below d,,,stick a pensil in there and press down,,it will un lock,, but somehow the interlock module seems to be malfunctioning dont know why
