How do i set the idle on my 560sel i took it to the dealer awhile back and they set the idle up to high and i dont plan on paying someone to set the idle on my car. I normally do my own work so if it is harder to do plz still explain.

from the small hole in the middle of the air cleaner, insert a long 4mm allen key.

if air cleaner is removed, just behind the sensor plate of throtte body (front of fuel distributor).

clockwise, higher rpm.

thats your mixture adjustment .....[&:] that car had auto idle system all electroic..how hi is it >>??1500/2000/or 2500..??

 

My 1986 560 SEL is idling around 1200. I just to it to be smoked here in California and the smog tech said it needs to be below 1100 to be checked. Is this something I can adjust?
