Talking SERVICE RESET & Fuel pump leak?

How common is it to have a fuel pump leak on an 01 C320? It went from not ever having to add fluid except maybe during services too all of a sudden adding fluid everyday just to get it work! I know I'm looking at at least $600 but could there be another problem. If it were the pump would it leak by just sitting or could it be a hose/ resevoir?
Thanks
Also......
Ive tried this reset on me car but still can't get my 01 C320 to reset...am I missing something?
1. Turn key to the #2 position. People have said the door has to be shut.
This position is the one just before the car starts.

2. Scroll menu button on upper left of steering wheel to show the mileage.

3. Use the arrow up/down to show the SERVICE A or SERVICE B icons....there will be one or two wrenches showing.

4. HOLD the trip reset button (on the left of the instrument cluster) IN for ten seconds and release.

5. HOLD the trip reset button in ANOTHER THREE SECONDS and release.

When I restart my car....there it is again...is there another way to try and reset?

position 2.... go to service screen in cluster .....then hold R button on cluster until it says reset service interval? then let go and push and hold again. driver door might have to be closed.

if you dont have steering wheel controls then the procedure is differnt.

postion2....push reset button 2 times..let go of the button ......turn off key...push and hold reset button then turn key to postion 2 again ...keep holding button until it beeps might be 10 seconds.
