Default RE: Safety

A front module replaces the front crossmember which on the predecessor
series was welded to the body shell structure and the front end with a bolted
front end crossmember; this front module consists of
* an aluminium die cast section as a support for the bumper components
* two aluminium crash boxes as a connection to the two front longitudinal
members
* a bolted aluminium skeleton frame for both headlamp units
* two steel radiator mounting brackets.
The entire front module is likewise bolted to the front end structure as are
the individual components of the front module to each other. As a result,
it is possible to cost-effectively replace individual components or the entire
module if any damage occurs, without the need for welding work.
The easily disassembled, bolted front module with flexible bumper bracket
and crash boxes as well as the energy-absorbing flexible bumper bracket
with crash boxes located below the rear bumper which prevents any damage
to the body structure in a minor rear-end collision, offer short repair times
and low repair costs.
Damage which in the past on the predecessor series had to be repaired on
the straightening bench, can now be achieved by simply replacing the bolted
parts. It has thus been possible to reduce the repair time for the
replacement of the front module to about ¼ of the repair time of the
predecessor model.
High ease of repair
(related to Alliance Technical Center repair crash at 15 km/h)
Reasons for the favorable insurance classification
* Bolted front and rear module with crash boxes (repair without the need for straightening systems)
* Damage-free radiator module
* Energy-absorbing bumpers with rub strips which can be unclipped from the outside
* Fenders which can be unclipped in the area subject to risk
* Headlamp housing with repair fixtures (repair kit)
* Paintwork joints
* No expensive components in the area at risk from a crash
* Low part prices
* Significantly reduced repair times
