Hello, I have a quick question concerning head gaskets. I have a friend with a leaky head gasket on his S320 he told me it was a 91, but after looking it up on wikipedia I seems that the S320 didn't start until 93... so I'll have to clear that up a little bit later.
I'm trying to locate a head gasket kit for him, since the best deal he's found so far is $780, (for just the head gasket) and I know that is complete and total BS. if someone could point me to a site where I could find a kit, I would really appreciate it. so far I've found a kit for about $100 for a 94 S320, but I don't know if it's the same.
I only have a little experience working on old Mercedes diesels, but I'm fairly proficient with VW TDi's, and I guess when it comes down to it, a head gasket is a head gasket so I'm sure I could replace one on a Mercedes gasser. However, if there are any tricks about anything It would be nice if someone could give me a heads up. =)
