Default RE: RUNNING WITH OIL LIGHT ON

Depends upon how long you drove it with the light on.

You want to listen very carefully to the engine for a slight (or sometimes not so slight) rythmic knocking noise coming from inside the engine that increases & decreases with engine RPMs. - (might even be more noticeable when the engine is cold)

If you notice anything, have it checked out ASAP! And make those IDIOTS pay!

In this situation, it's really easy to spin a bearing (not enough lubrication) then a rod or rods will begin knocking due to the damaged bearing. Then it's rebuild the engine time.

Hopefully you caught it in time.

I usually call the red oil light that lights up the "Change Engine Light" because when it comes on that means that the oil pressure is extremely low.

Hope it's ok .... But make sure you follow up on this, as you may be in for a really expensive repair bill if you wait to long to make the idiots fix what they've screwed up.

Good luck with it
Cheers
