Due to compression bypassing the piston rings it is time to rebuild the engine in my 83 TD w/500K.

To those who have don it;
What is the best and easiest way to remove the engine – with or without the transmission?

Also, is there any literature on this engine removal procedure?

Should the radiator and other engine accessories (fan, water pump, AC conp, etc) on the front of the engine be removed to make removal easier?

I will be doing this job alone.

Any help full hints will be very much appreciated.
Also, is there any literature on this engine removal procedure?
