How do I repair or replace the LCD screen? Some of the antiglare has rubbed off, which makes it difficult to read in the sunlight.

 

maybe it's just the backlight adjustment?

lcd alone cannot be replaced. it comes as a unit.

 

Does anyone know the replacement cost for the unit? It seems wasteful to replace the whole unit just for the sake of the LCD, but I imagine that's why they designed it that way. Everything is disposable these days. Who knows, maybe I could install the 2009 radio as the replacement, and at least get the benefit of that.

 

found a way to fix it. I looks like brand new, and all for $8.
