Proximity sensors
My 2007 GL450 just developed a bad habit: the right front proximity warning lights come on randomly. Although not a consistent pattern, they seem to come on after braking to a stop. The right side lights including the 2 red lights come on and the tone sounds. Very annoying. I spent $80 in dealer diagnostics only to be told that they could not find the problem. It only happens on the right, and it does not matter what is on my right. There is never anything in front when this happens. Any ideas?
i have the same issue, except is in the driver side.
Very annoying - only in hot weather if the driver side faces the sun.
My mechanic says it's not easy to replace it -- it requires the bumper to be removed. Is that correct ?
Is it a bad connection ? Has anyone know what's happening here ?

the smallest ding in the sensor, or being just a hair out of alignment can cause that to happen. Also ive seen on the GLs the parktronic harness on the bumper cover chafes on the body and can cause issues too.
