Part II today’s questions
My 2007 ML350 4Matic with 149K has a clunking sound up front when going over rough roads.
Rather than just arbitrarily purchase new strut assemblies and front links, how can I know that it’s not these parts that are bad? Sound more like ball joints to you all? How to tell? Car tracks perfectly on the road, it’s that clunking sound I hate.
And thanks again everyone!

I think that the easiest way is to get the car on a lift and see what the suspension looks like - you'll be able to tell quickly if the strut is the problem. Please let us know if you have any other questions or if we can assist with any future part needs.
