I know this is not entirely relevant but I was wondering if anyone could help? I am purchasing a Dutch Barge that has a Mercedes OM619 diesel engine. Does anybody know the years of manufacture of these engines, horse power and any reliability issues? Thanks

 

Thanks for your reply because I cannot get any specs on this engine. As I cannot find a Mercedes car that had this engine would I be right in assuming that it is a specialist marine engine. I was told that it was built in the 1950s but believe it could be younger as the 617 seems to have been built in the 1970s?
