help my oil pressure when to o all at once have valve noise now anybody know if 1988 300e's have problems with oil pumps?

 

sounds like oil pumps had its time,is the engine noisy,when started?if not run engine for few seconds while its runnig,open oil filler cap to see any oil comin up,if oil comin up then its your oil pressure switch...............

 

if the engine started to make noise when the pressure dropped to zero
then i would not run the engine further. get it to a shop on a tow truck.
if you are able then install an oil pressure gauge where the oil sender is.
you got a problem if it reads 0. or yer low onn oil.

 

well the valve noise came at the same time it is the oil pump i am sure but i wanted to know if oil pumps or the pump chains are a common problem on a 88 300e ?
