Default OBD2 types on Mercedes

Hello all,
I know this a weird sort of question....
On what year did merc use the 16pin obd2 plug?
I have bought some merc c class code readers and it says for all c class, but i'm sure that mercedes clk320 use the 38pin socket,
Any help..... cheers

Should have both connectors, the 38 pin is designed for dealer use under the hood, the 16 pin under the driverside dash is there because the law required it but it will still give you basic OBD II info.
