Does any one out there are familiar or went trough this problm 1990 300sel missing 1 gear when I shift to D the trans shift only 3 gears is not kikng the 4rt gear and whe I shift the trans in 3rd it shift only 1st and 2nd and if I shift to 2nd, it stay in first gear any advise please let me know.

hard to tell.

need to check the parameters on your transmission before deciding if 1 gear is really missing.

linkages and pressure must be observed.

 

I think your car starts in second gear and you only get first if you nearly floor it on take off.
