Need help changing gas pedal
Hello. I just got a pair of the OEM Mercedes Aluminum Pedals for my CLK 500. I was able to switch out the footbrake and the brake, but can't remove the gas bolt. Is there any special way to do this? I've tried using the search function, but it really isn't helping. Are there any pictures on how to do this? Thanks

RE: Need help changing gas pedal
maybe it's using micro-encapsulated bolts with self locking nuts.
there is an increase risk of injury when unscrewing micro-encapsulated bolts due to the sudden breakaway torque. maybe that's the reason why you find it hard to remove. you need to excert more pressure.
before new encapsulated bolt are screwed in, the mating thread must be re cut in order to remove all the residue of the old bolt locking compound.
normally on other model, it's just the 10mm bolt (with cover) that holds it.

RE: Need help changing gas pedal
When I change out the pedal on my C280, as I remember the gas pedel was connected in two spots, one bolt attaching it the the accelerator lever and one on the bottom attaching it to the floor, it was some sort of clip arrangement. but both came off without too much work
SLEEPWALKER GOT A QUICK QUESTION FOR YOU. The rubber vacuum lines that connect the hard plastic vac lines, is 5mm ID the standard on my 79 450SLC, I need to change one on the vacuum advance and another that connects two hard plastic lines. I bought a couple of the splitter rubber lines, and they are 5mm ID so I am assuming they all are?
