Multiple Flat Tires & cracked rims!!!
We have been having the same issue. 5 rims and 3 tires. I am surprised that MB is aware of the issue but has done nothing to resolve it. I was considering going from 35s to 45s on the front and 30s to 40 on the rear but was cautioned it may cause drive train issues.
Wow, I wish I would have done more research! I just had a cracked rim that cost me $2000 to replace, and the hole I hit was minimal! I am very disappointed in MB, as this is my first foray into upscale luxury cars, and I was not expecting this!
Same thing happened to my e43, Cracked rim or bubbles forming on new tires. The wheels cannot handle most roads. It seems the you need a smooth racetrack to drive these cars on.
Let me know when you plan to sue. I may be interested in joining.
QUOTE=Panagiotis123;183127]The rims are cracking because they are not strong enough to handle the weight of the car and the dynamic loads that the wheels are subjected to during normal driving conditions. They are low quality cast aluminum rims and they are weak. This is why they fail over and over by cracking and bending. I am about ready to sue Mercedes at this point for this. Their refusal to address this issue is totally unacceptable.
When a rim cracks and the tire loses air, you have to run the car on the run flat tire, which means that you need to either replace or fix the rim and definitely replace the run flat tire. When a rim bends, it results in uneven tire ware that can shorten the life of a tire to 10,000 miles or less. This can get very expensive very fast. I have paid thousands of dollars already fixing and replacing front wheels and tires on my 2018 E43 because of this problem. I never had a problem like this with another car. Never had to worry about a rim cracking with another car. This 2018 E43 is a total disaster in regards to front rims bending and cracking.
I am about to sue Mercedes at this point in federal court because their conduct is beyond unacceptable. Their cars are sold with wheels that cannot properly support the car’s weight and dynamic loads during normal driving conditions, and instead of owning the problem and standing behind their brand, they shift instead the blame to the driver, to potholes, etc. and pretend that the problem does not exist and on top of that, they make millions of dollars by selling new bad cast alloy rims to their victims at $1200 to $1500 each!!!! Horrible conduct.[/QUOTE]

Hey all, fresh to the forum but not to this headaches. Bought a preowned 2019-20 cls450 with about 20k miles on it. Thankfully got the wheel package. Have had every wheel replaced at least once in 2 years and have eaten every single tire on the inside wall. Paid for the Mercedes dealer to align it and all. I don’t drive miss daisy but I’m not driving reckless over bad roads or pot holes. Mercedes washes their hands with it. Front tires look like new and yesterday to be exact I turned my wheel full right as I pulled in. Noticed something as I walked away. Nearly new looking tire showing cord and starting to split on the inside, border thread to wall. The wheels crack like crazy. Tires wear only the inside. Like most of you. Extremely disappointing and disappointed with Mercedes. Place a lawsuit and I’m sure a lot of people will co-sign it. Not sure if I’ll buy a Mercedes again after my experience with them
