Moog Center link/ Drag link
I ordered a Moog Center Link part # DS1401. I thought this was the one listed for the 93 300TE 4Matic. They're are 2 choices DS1401 and DS1402. They list chassis #'s 1B022105/28051199 and 1B022104/28051198. I didn't find any of these #'s on the car. I tried going by the picture but apparently I screwed up!
The bracket where the steering damper mounts is at the wrong end. What I also realized is that the damper mounting bracket isn't made the same. The original is made so that it cups around the end of the damper. On the Moog it does not. Apparently you have to run the bolt through the end of the damper and only tighten it down enough so that the end of the damper has some play. Also and probably more important is that the ball joint studs are at a 90 degree angle to the link rather than more of a 45 like on the original, which means the studs will always be stretched out towards the end of they're play when mounted on the car. It appears by the picture the only difference between the 2 parts is the location of the damper bracket.
Has anyone used a center link like this and does anyone know which chassis #'s are correct, or where to find them.
Jerry
