Default drag link torque and source for parts/workshop manual

Hello everyone. New CLK owner here and I'm glad I found this forum.

It's a '00 CLK 320 Convertible, that needed a drag link, which I've replaced. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the torque values that need to be applied to the four ball joints. I'm pretty handy and have all the tools. Just want to make sure I'm doing the job correctly.

Also I would greatly appreciate it if you can point me to a sourcefor parts diagrams and workshop manual on CD/DVD. I think I'll be able to contribute significantly to this forum as I get more familiar with the car. Thankfully it will be a while, because so far the car seems to be in immaculate condition

Many thanks,
Tarek

Default RE: drag link torque and source for parts/workshop manual

Hi Tarek,

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your CLK. The 2000 CLK is an incredible car. I also have a 2000CLK that the dealer calls a "signal car" because it has so many more miles on it than the average CLK, that they watch the car for symptoms and faults to help build the database for future customer repairs. You will be pleased to know that my "signal car" has only needed two sensors in 200000 miles. I did have to replace the drag link also, but I blame the road condition here for that repair. When I bought the car, they said the transmission was"long life", and they were notjoking.

Greatcar choice!
