What kind of mileage (MPG) should one expect to get with a 1979 240D with automatic transmission? Thanks.

 

Hello Bobbyz, I've heard 30-35 but I have a 83-240D ?180K?? odo not working that seem to be getting ziltch per gallon. Daily use, drive maybe 1 1/2 hrs. per day and fill up @ 5 days and i'm not driving 80mph. What can cause excess consumtion? Seems to run cool so I'll change the thermostat??? What else?>?
