I am a new member to the site, and I am hoping that someone here can give me advice.
My problem is my automatic gearbox is playing up, it sometimes, not all the time, does not change up for a long time, and the engine races away and then it changes up with a jolt, or it changes up and down quick. Once it gets going its fine.
The transmission oil level appears to be ok. Is it possible to change filters on these models as I cant seem to find anything that says you can.
Could it be a sensor, I have recently changed the mass airflow sensor because the one on it went, it has been changed with the original part number. This car is an import, I domnt know if this makes any difference.
Is my gearbox shot, or can it be something simpler than having to renew gearbox.
Could it be electrical?
Its a 1997 E230 Elegance Saloon.
