Our 1984 Mercedes 300TD 5-dr station wagon had a self leveling suspension (SLS) system that went bad with leaking hydralic bags which had to be removed.
We now need new springs, shocks and information on what to get and how to attach.
Anyone that can help tell us what components we need and how to attach. The station wagon has 245,000 miles on odometer but engine purrs like a kitten. We want to keep and drive. It is a little unstable without springs and shocks and bottoms out over a bump.
We want to retro-fit with a standard air hydralic coil suspension.
Any ideas on what components and what configuration.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I dont think you need to buy all the stuff you listed. Mercedes springs are bullet proof and are probbaly ok. The rear actuators take the place of shocks /struts so you dont need those. The first and only thing I would do is replace the actuators, especially if they are leaking. As I remember they can be accessed under the rear seat , its been awhile!! The ride height can also be adjusted. The SLS valve is attached to the rear axle. By adjusting the lever you can adjust the ride height. Good luck Dusty
