Mercedes 2500 190D noisy at air intake like exhaust blown ?? HELP PLEASE
Hi,
I have a great 2.5 190D with over 300K miles, K Plate, 1 owner FSH, and love it to bits, bought it for £375 in Jan 09, then passed MOT with no work needed. Amazing car. Problem is a noise that developed over months and had got noisier. Only when you rev in neutral or change gear. Noise sounds like a blown exhaust but Kwik Fit say Air Box ?? If you lift the bonnet when someone revs, it sounds like a blown exhaust, but the noise appears to come from near the air filter, power steering reservoir areas. Was in a multi storey car park yesterday, the noise was lie a subaru, bloody deafening. Hope you can help folks, desperate to keep this car going.
