limp mod
Hello everyone
Wonder if someonewould know why when i give my c-class 220cdi 1999 derva bit of a canning like say over taking, it gos like the clappers then!!!!!!!!!it seem to go into LIMP MOD ( has no power) it will gain speed in time. But as soon as i stop the engine and start it again it is back to normal. full power until i give it plenty of pedal to the metal..
What should i do?
Thanks for looking

RE: limp mod
Get it scanned for stored/pending DTC Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Goes into "Limp" because emmission are being threatened. i.e. misfire. Sorts itself on a reset (ign off) since all circuits report OK when ign turned on. Problem only occurs when you do something harsh and transient. (Max revs in a gearchange.)
Sounds a bit MAF ish BUT it could be many things. Need DTC's to narrow field.
Service history, mileage etc?
