I have a 89 mercedes 190e 2.6 with half a broken key stuck in the ignition. Towed it to napa, got a call a week later saying they couldnt do nothing with it. so now i have to have it towed somewhere else or home where i can do it myself, or try to figure it out. Could not get help from locksmiths because nobody likes working on mercedes in america.

The reason for this post is i need to figure out if with having the key stuck in there, saying there is no way to get that out, is there a way to take the ignition out so i can start with a screwdriver or something. or if not that is there any other way to get the car started without a key? I'm looking for a temparary fix so i can get back and forth to work before i get a new ignition ordered in it. I do have a spare key but cannot use it because of the broken one stuck in the ignition.

If any of you have any ideas on this i need help with it pretty bad. The steering wheel is locked also because i cannot get the key turned.
